Thai cooking lessons for beginners!

Learn to cook and prepare basic Thai dishes in just a couple of hours!

The last time I went to cooking class was about 7 years ago when I was based in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.

I really had alot of fun and am not quite so sure why it took me so long until I enrolled into another one.

So the wife and I signed up to a session with the Bangkok Thai Cooking Academy and had a great time. We learnt a bunch of stuff that we should have already known considering that we have been in Bangkok for years and also made some new friends.

Big thumbs up from us and we would recommend this.

So the way it works is they have two sessions (for the beginner half day class). We went for the afternoon slot which starts at 1pm.

The meeting point was at BTS Bang Chak. First they took us to a local market nearby. There we were told about the different types of spices and ingredients that go into the Thai dishes that we’d be cooking. After that, we made our way to the cooking school (all within a short walking distance from the BTS station).

The school was well equipped, clean and air conditioned. The staff were really great and spoke English really well.

The cooking school. Air conditioned.

The calm before the storm. Alot of prep work before you toss stuff into the wok.
Action shot!
You reap what you sow. Here’s hoping that my cooking is edible!

For those who are interested, I have included a link to their website below. For a half day beginners class (about 3 hours), this was THB 1,200 per person. You choose 5 dishes (from their list) that you want to prepare and cook. And best of all, you get to eat all of it. Attend hungry.
